Prosecutors have sent a case to court regarding Volodymyr Bayda, the head of the education department of the Yavoriv City Council, who was detained for taking a bribe of 800,000 UAH, and his accomplices - Starosambir City Council deputy Marian Yavorsky and a businesswoman. The head of education received kickbacks for ensuring the victory of certain entrepreneurs in tenders. This was reported by the regional prosecutor's office on Friday, September 12.

According to the case materials, in October 2024, an agreement was concluded between the City Council and an individual entrepreneur for the purchase of multimedia equipment for educational institutions.

The entrepreneur, in fulfillment of the terms of the contract, delivered the ordered goods. However, she entered inaccurate information about the real cost of the goods and its technical requirements into the settlement documents. In addition, it was indicated that the equipment had been set up and installed, while in reality such actions had not been carried out. The customer, represented by the head of the education department, signed the documents, knowing for a fact that the information in them was not true.
