In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the State Bureau of Investigation exposed the head of the food service of one of the military units, who organized a corruption scheme in the supply of food to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to investigators, the head of the food service acted in collusion with the director of the enterprise supplying food to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Contrary to the volumes specified in the documents, only a part of the products was supplied to the military. In addition, the quality of the products received by the soldiers did not meet the established requirements. In particular, the military received rotten vegetables and fruits.

For accepting poor-quality products and not sending complaint letters, the head of the food service received an illegal cash benefit. The amount of kickbacks reached up to 50% of the cost of the supply. In just one week, the amount of illegal payments could exceed 1 million UAH.

It was established that the head of the food service spent the bribes received on his own needs. During the searches, cars, documents for luxury real estate, a collection of branded clothing, shoes, and expensive accessories worth over UAH 8 million were seized from him, as well as promissory notes for $120,000. The State Bureau of Investigation notes that part of the luxury property was registered in the names of relatives of the official.

The head of the food service was suspected of fraud, bribery, and evasion of military service during martial law. He faces up to 10 years in prison. In addition, a subordinate official from the food service of the logistics department was suspected. Investigators found that she received cash from suppliers for writing off low-quality products and transferred part of the money to the manager. During the searches, $20,000 was seized from her. The woman is charged with providing an illegal benefit to an official, and she faces up to four years in prison.

Earlier, law enforcement officers from the State Bureau of Investigation and the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) also exposed the commander of a military unit in the Kyiv region. The man is suspected of organizing the theft of food intended for the soldiers entrusted to him.

In addition, the State Bureau of Investigation exposed a unit commander in the Kyiv region who regularly received bribes from subordinate fighters.
