Military unit commander in Kyiv region suspected of systematic bribery

The State Bureau of Investigation has exposed a unit commander in the Kyiv region who regularly received bribes from subordinate fighters. This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.
As law enforcement officers established, the officer received 14 bribes from nine subordinate soldiers during 2023. For the money, the commander allowed the soldiers to unofficially leave their place of service and travel outside the Kyiv region. It was established that the soldiers transferred the bribes to the commander's bank card.
In fact, the official used his official position for personal enrichment, putting pressure on subordinates and putting them in a dependent position.
The State Bureau of Investigation exposed the commander and declared him suspected of extorting and receiving bribes in large amounts (Part 1 and Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The maximum penalty provided for by the article is imprisonment for a term of up to ten years with confiscation of property. At the same time, nine subordinates of the officer are charged with providing illegal benefits (Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The fighters face up to eight years in prison.
Earlier, in the Ternopil region, the police and the SSU detained the deputy head of one of the district TCP and SS on suspicion of receiving illegal benefits .
In addition, in the Zhytomyr region, law enforcement officers detained two servicemen of the TCP and SS, who are suspected of organizing a bribery scheme to remove the "wanted" status from those liable for military service. Two of the defendants in the case have already been notified of the suspicion.
