Law enforcement officers detained Oleksandr Kursyk, a Rivne deputy and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in the Lviv region, who may be involved in organizing the smuggling of tax evaders abroad.

This was reported by local media with reference to the spokeswoman for the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine, Natalia Kalynovska.

Natalia Kalynovska added that law enforcement officers detained three more people in this case, who were accomplices of the organizer: "Suspicions have been announced to all of them and preventive measures have been taken."

In a comment to "Public Rivne", Nataliya Kalynovska clarified that the preventive measure for the alleged organizer of the smuggling of evaders is detention with the possibility of paying bail in the amount of 1.2 million UAH. According to her, he has already paid it. Law enforcement officers are not disclosing more information so as not to hinder the investigation. Investigative actions in criminal proceedings are being carried out by law enforcement officers of the Lviv region.

Oleksandr Kursyk himself told reporters that he was on duty and could not comment on the situation due to the investigation's ban.
