SAPO announces suspicion for ex-MoD official
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has reported a new suspicion against the former temporary acting head of one of the Central Territorial Departments of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. This was reported by the SAPO press service.
According to media reports, this is the former acting head of the Central Territorial Department of Capital Construction of the Ministry of Defense, Vitaliy Haiduk.
The SAPO prosecutor reported suspicion of requesting an illegal benefit for the construction of housing for military personnel and their family members to the former acting head of one of the Central Territorial Departments of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The actions of the former employee were qualified under Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, Haiduk was supposed to ensure the victory of a previously determined participant in the competition for the development of a land plot in the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital in exchange for a cash reward. The amount of this reward was reduced from 1.1 million to 690 thousand dollars during the negotiations. According to the preliminary agreement, the money was to be transferred in two parts, in particular, to start the competition, they were asked to provide 100 thousand dollars.
Vitaliy Gaiduk is a suspect in the EBK database.
As is known, the head of the financial and economic department of the Main Department of Capital Investments of the Ministry of Defense, Oleksiy Stasiuk , and the head of the resistance movement infrastructure support group of the Resistance Movement Department of the Special Operations Forces Command, Oleksandr Tyrsha, were detained by the National Police in early June after receiving the first tranche of illegal profit of $100,000. According to the investigation, they demanded these funds for the private enterprise's winning the tender for the construction of a 16-story residential building in Kyiv's Svyatoshynskyi district on Mykhailivska Borshchahivka. Later, the case was transferred to the NABU.
As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported a new suspect in this case - the acting head of the Central Territorial Department of Capital Construction of the Ministry of Defense, Vitaliy Haiduk.
