Ex-SSES Official Sentenced to 5 Years for Bribery

The deputy head of one of the district departments of the State Emergency Service of Lviv received a sentence for a bribe of $300. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison with confiscation of property.

This was reported in the press service of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

As the investigators established, the deputy head of the district department of the State Emergency Service of Lviv Region took a bribe from the director of the company. For $300, the employee promised not to include individual violations of fire safety legislation in the company's inspection report. The official was detained while receiving the amount. The man was found guilty of receiving an illegal benefit.

He was sentenced to 5 years in prison with confiscation of all property. They were also deprived of the right to hold positions in law enforcement agencies related to the performance of organizational and administrative functions for a period of 3 years.

The court's verdict will enter into force after the expiry of the appeal period.
