Ukraine’s chief military psychiatrist faces new charges
The Chief Psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleg Druz, was charged with new charges of laundering proceeds of crime, and the court arrested him on bail.
Suspected of illegal enrichment, the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Druz, received a new suspicion under Part 3 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely, in legalization (laundering) of property obtained by criminal means in the amount of UAH 34,573,322.
According to the SBU, the investigation established that the defendant legalized this money by purchasing luxury real estate and premium cars, which he registered in the name of close relatives.
It was established that among such "assets" is an apartment in a new building on the coast of Odessa, registered for the official's daughter, and a cottage near Kyiv, which he "registered" for his stepson.
He also registered three BMW cars for his children (in particular, the X3, X5, X7 models) of 2022, 2023, and 2024 models.
According to media reports, Druz was supposed to be released from the pre-trial detention center on February 19, but received new suspicion and a request for a new preventive measure. As the UCP clarified to journalists, on February 20, prosecutors filed a request to apply a preventive measure in the form of detention to the defendant with a possible determination of the amount of bail in the amount of UAH 34,517,264.
On Friday, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv partially granted the prosecutor's office's request for a preventive measure. According to the court's decision, Druzya was arrested for 2 months with the option of posting bail of UAH 29 million.

Earlier, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office also reported a new suspicion against the former temporary acting head of one of the Central Territorial Departments of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. According to the investigation, Haiduk, in exchange for a monetary reward, was supposed to ensure the victory of a previously determined participant in a competition for the development of a land plot in the Sviatoshyn district of the capital.
