The Sumy Specialized Prosecutor's Office dropped charges against Andriy Sydorenko in the Cadet Corps bribery case. The case against another defendant, Olga Martynenko, was also closed.

This became known from the decisions of the Zarechny District Court.

The ruling states that during the court session, the prosecutor announced the withdrawal of the charges due to insufficient evidence. The court closed the criminal proceedings against Andriy Sydorenko. He was also returned "nine 100-dollar bills, 4,748 UAH, an iPhone 12, and a Baldinini bag" seized during the search, and the arrest on his apartment was canceled.

Another court ruling closed the criminal proceedings against Olga Martynenko, who, according to the investigation, gave money to Sidorenko. Her actions were reclassified from bribery to fraud. The case was closed due to the expiration of the terms of bringing her to criminal responsibility. Martynenko also returned the items seized during the search, and the arrest of her part of the apartment was lifted.

As a reminder, on June 12, 2021, law enforcement officers documented the extortion and receipt by Andriy Sydorenko of thousands of dollars from a citizen for enrolling her son in the state boarding school with enhanced military and physical training "Cadet Corps" named after I. G. Kharitonenko of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Colonel Sydorenko and his accomplice Martynenko were detained.

It was previously reported that the Appeals Court will review Judge Sarayev's conviction for bribery.
