In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the State Bureau of Investigation detained a deputy commander of a military unit who embezzled night vision devices worth almost UAH 4 million. A preventive measure has already been chosen for him.

It was found that the deputy commander, who was responsible for logistics in the unit, decided to appropriate expensive equipment. The documentation he prepared indicated that 24 night vision devices were lost in combat conditions. The cost of the equipment reaches almost 4 million hryvnias.

In fact, he ordered his subordinates to hide the property in a pile of garbage in one of the warehouses. During searches of the military unit's locations, in particular its warehouses, and the defendant's residence, physical evidence of illegal activities was seized.

The defendant was given a preventive measure in the form of detention with the alternative of posting bail in the amount of UAH 7.7 million.

Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) filed a complaint against an official of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade . He is suspected of complicity in a scheme to extort money from soldiers who evaded service.
