Military officer detained in Lviv region for bribery
A military official suspected of receiving bribes from a subordinate was detained in the Lviv region . According to the investigation, the head of physical training received 10,000 hryvnias for more than a year for not sending a serviceman to serve in a combat zone. The man was detained while receiving the next payment.
This was reported by the communications department of the Lviv region police.
According to the investigation, the scheme operated from November 2024 to February 2026. The head of physical training and sports of the military unit demanded and received an illegal benefit of 10 thousand hryvnias from one of the servicemen every month. For this money, he promised not to initiate the transfer of the serviceman to another place of service located in a combat zone.
On February 17, law enforcement officers detained a man on the territory of a military unit after receiving another "tranche" in the amount of 10 thousand hryvnias.
The chief was informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 368 (Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for a penalty - imprisonment for a term of up to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years, with confiscation of property. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
