Community head caught taking bribe in Ternopil region

The head of a community in the Ternopil region was detained for accepting a bribe. This was reported on the website of the National Police of the region.

This is about the head of one of the united territorial communities of Chortkiv district.

The village head, using his official position, promised the entrepreneur to assist in submitting to the village council session the issue of concluding a land lease agreement. It was also about the subsequent signing of the relevant decision and agreement. The community head estimated the cost of such a "service" at 1,000 US dollars.

The website of the National Police of the region noted that law enforcement officers detained the man after he received the money. He was charged under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code - this is accepting an offer, promise or receiving an illegal benefit by an official. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 10 years with confiscation of property.

Measures to expose the official's illegal activities were carried out by employees of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Ternopil region together with investigators of the Investigation Department of the Main Police Department under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
