District TCP deputy head detained in Ternopil region
In Ternopil region, police and the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) detained the deputy head of one of the district TCP and SS on suspicion of receiving illegal benefits. This was reported on the website of the National Police of the region.
Currently, the issue of declaring suspicion and choosing a preventive measure is being decided.
According to the investigation, he demanded $3,000 for the unhindered renewal of military registration documents and the removal of a 28-year-old resident of the region from the wanted list. The suspect was detained while receiving the agreed amount.
The actions of the serviceman were documented by investigators of the Main Police Department in Ternopil region with operational support from employees of the Internal Affairs Bureau in the region under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Western region with the assistance of the leadership of the Ternopil regional TCP and SS. Criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official).
The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years and confiscation of property. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

In addition, in the Zhytomyr region, law enforcement officers detained two servicemen of the TCP and SS, who are suspected of organizing a bribery scheme to remove the "wanted" status from those liable for military service. Two of the defendants in the case have already been notified of the suspicion.
