NABU Detains Judge for Bribe in Apple Bag

According to the investigation, the defendant was supposed to be acquitted for a certain amount. Law enforcement agencies do not specify the amount of the bribe, but, as claimed on social networks, the judge allegedly found $800 in a bag of apples.
During the investigation, officers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office established that a judge of the City District Court of Dnipropetrovsk region promised to acquit a citizen whose case was under consideration for a certain amount of money, the NABU press service reported. After receiving the money, the judge made a decision.
The man was caught red-handed, and on the NABU and SAPO social media pages there is a photo of him holding a bag with apples and dollars. According to information that appeared on the network, it says that there was $800 in it. Anti-corruption detectives did not officially announce the amount of the bribe.
The detainee was informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official). The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to 10 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years, with confiscation of property.
Searches were conducted at the suspect's residence and workplace, and the investigation is ongoing.
