DTCP Chief Caught Taking Bribes for Updating Fitness Data

In Volyn, the head of the regional TCP and SS was exposed for bribery. For money, the official uploaded data about the ineligibility of clients into the "Oberig" system. During the searches of the apartment and workplace, 2.9 million UAH in different currencies were seized from the suspect.

The law enforcement officers established that for $3,000, the official "retroactively" produced military registration documents for men of draft age about passing the MMC commission and uploaded data about unfitness to "Oberig".

To collect bribes from clients, the TCP employee involved his neighbor as an intermediary. The police detained both of them during the transfer of illegal benefits, and conducted 19 warrant searches at their places of residence and work. According to the results, the investigators seized 60,000 dollars, 6 thousand EUR and 170,000 UAH, as well as ammunition

The Prosecutor General's Office noted that investigators documented two facts of receiving bribes from conscripts. Yes, the suspect managed to get at least $6,000.

The head of the security department of the regional TCP and his neighbor were charged with receiving a bribe by an official who acted in a prior conspiracy with others (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They face up to 10 years behind bars with confiscation of property.
