Fugitive People's Deputy Odarchenko appeared in court via video link

People's deputy from the "Servant of the People" faction Andriy Odarchenko, accused of trying to bribe the leadership of the Ministry of Reconstruction, appeared at the session of the High Anti-Corruption Court on October 16 via video link.

The fugitive People's Deputy refused to say where he is at the moment.

Odarchenko stated that he was forced to leave the territory of Ukraine allegedly "due to danger to his health".

Court proceedings against the people's deputy are conducted in absentia.

We will remind, the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office said that, according to operational information, People's Deputy Andriy Odarchenko fled abroad. That is why he was declared a national and international wanted man .

Later it turned out that the people's deputy illegally crossed the border in the Krasnoilsk settlement of Chernivtsi region and asked for asylum in Romania.

Also, HACC arrested People's Deputy Odarchenko in absentia and confiscated his bail.
