In the Kyiv region, law enforcement officers detained the deputy head of one of the district tax inspectorates, who demanded bribes from local entrepreneurs for non-interference in their work.

It was established that the official, in exchange for money, ensured that entrepreneurs were fined minimally for violations discovered during inspections. He also promised non-interference by tax officials in their work and offered assistance in obtaining licenses to trade in excisable goods.

A number of facts of an official receiving an illegal benefit were recorded. In particular, the fee for assistance in obtaining a license to sell alcoholic beverages was $1,000 - this is the amount announced by the tax officer.

The deputy head of one of the district tax inspectorates in Kyiv region was informed by a SBI employee about suspicion of systematically receiving money from entrepreneurs (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions and engage in certain activities for a term of up to 3 years and confiscation of property.

We previously wrote that the deputy director of a branch of a state-owned enterprise in the Khmelnytskyi region was caught taking bribes . The official took from 7 to 30 thousand UAH for fictitious waste disposal. Now he faces up to ten years in prison.

In addition, recently the Drohobych City District Court of the Lviv region sentenced Mykhailo Krechkivskyi, who, while working at the State Service for Food and Consumer Protection, took bribes from a seafood importer for passing state veterinary and sanitary control.
