Policeman in Ternopil region suspected of bribery

In the Ternopil region, a police officer is suspected of receiving $17,500 for documents that allow him to travel abroad during martial law, the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor's Office reports.
According to the investigation, the suspect was approached by a conscript seeking information regarding the legal crossing of the state border of Ukraine.
"The policeman, who worked at the district territorial recruitment and social support center before serving in the police, promised to use his acquaintances and assist in issuing a certificate of temporary unfitness for military service to the man."
This was supposed to give him the right to travel abroad.
The suspect estimated his services at $16,000. Later, the price increased to $17,500. The suspect also threatened the conscript that if he refused to provide him with an illegal benefit, he would, using his connections, take measures to mobilize him as soon as possible.
The policeman was detained while handing him $17.5 thousand.
Prosecutors of the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor's Office reported the suspicion of the police battalion of the Patrol Police Department in the Ternopil region of the State Police of the National Police of Ukraine in abuse of influence (Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was given a preventive measure - detention with bail set at over 200,000 hryvnias.
In addition, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office exposed an organized group that helped conscripted men illegally travel abroad and receive deferments from mobilization.
