HACC Cuts Bail for Ex-SBU Cybersecurity Chief
The High Anti-Corruption Court has reduced the bail set as a preventive measure for Ilya Vityuk, the former director of the cybersecurity department of the Security Service of Ukraine, from UAH 9.08 million to UAH 7.49 million. The NABU and SAPO suspect him of illicit enrichment and false declarations.
As is known, the High Anti-Corruption Court applied a preventive measure in the form of a bail of UAH 9.08 million to the former director of the SSU cybersecurity department, Ilya Vityuk. His defense lawyer requested that the preventive measure be changed.
The defense attorney's request to change the preventive measure is partially granted. The preventive measure in the form of a bail of UAH 9,084,000 is to be changed in terms of the amount of the bail, namely, to determine for the suspect (Vityuk - ed.) a preventive measure in criminal proceedings in the form of a bail of 2,250 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons, which is UAH 7,488,000. In the remaining part, the preventive measure in criminal proceedings chosen for the suspect is to be left unchanged.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO have completed the investigation into the former director of the SSU cybersecurity department, Ilya Vityuk. According to the investigation, in December 2023, the suspect purchased an apartment for UAH 21.6 million and registered it for his wife. At the same time, according to the contract, its value is UAH 12.8 million.
To substantiate the origin of the funds, the wife indicated that she earned them as an individual entrepreneur - from February 2022, she provided legal and consulting services. However, according to NABU and SAPO, the indicated services were not provided. In addition, there is no confirmation of the legal origin of the remaining funds spent on the purchase of the apartment in the amount of UAH 8.8 million.
