State Emergency Service officials accused of ₴7 million overpayment
The State Bureau of Investigation reported suspicions to officials of the State Emergency Service who purchased two thousand tablets at inflated prices.
SBI employees, in cooperation with the DHS of the National Police, reported the suspicion to the deputy head of one of the units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the deputy head of the department of this unit, who purchased electronic tablets at inflated prices.
According to the State Bureau of Investigation, in September 2023, the SES unit announced a tender for the purchase of 2,000 tablets for over UAH 50 million. The purchase was carried out through open bidding, for which only one company submitted an application with a proposal 30% higher than the market value of the gadgets.
The deputy head of the unit, without researching the market value of the tablets, declared this company the winner.
The conclusions of the examinations confirmed that the purchases were made at inflated prices, which caused losses to the state of over 7 million hryvnias.
