SAPO files claim over district court head’s assets

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court to declare the assets of the head of one of the district courts of Vinnytsia region unfounded. The property and income totaling over UAH 6.8 million are at stake.
This was reported by the press service of the SAPO.
According to "Word and Deed", this concerns the head of the Nemyriv District Court of Vinnytsia Oblast, Serhiy Naumenko.
According to the investigation, the assets involved include two apartments in Kyiv – a three-room and a one-room apartment – purchased in 2020–2021, as well as at least UAH 142,000 in rental income from one of them. The total value of the assets exceeds UAH 6.8 million.
The prosecutor's office indicates that the property was registered in the name of close relatives of the judge, but was actually used by his family. In particular, the judge's daughter lived in one of the apartments, and the official himself periodically stayed at this address. The other apartment was rented out, and the funds were transferred to the accounts of his daughter and mother-in-law.
The financial analysis showed that the official owners did not have sufficient legal income to purchase the property. At the same time, the total declared income of the judge and his wife was significantly less than the value of the assets - the difference exceeds UAH 5.5 million.
The lawsuit is based on evidence collected by SAPO prosecutors and materials from anti-corruption agencies that indicate the official's de facto control over the property. At the time of the case, the High Anti-Corruption Court had seized the relevant property to prevent its alienation.
We previously reported that the HACC sentenced a former Volyn deputy to 3.5 years in prison.
