SAP to file "Zorya"-"Mashproekt" case in late March

After March 30, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office will refer to court the case of the misappropriation of UAH 1.4 billion from the state-owned enterprise "Research and Production Complex of Gas Turbine Construction "Zorya" - "Mashproekt".
It was until this date that the defense was limited in terms of familiarizing itself with the investigation materials by the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court of January 28.
To set a deadline for the defense, namely the suspects (Yuri Sultansky, Yuri Markovtsev, Andriy Khomenko, Kostyantyn Kartoshkin – ed.) and their defense attorneys and other persons who will have the powers of defense attorneys, until March 30, 2025 inclusive, to familiarize themselves with the materials of the pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings, after which the defense will be considered to have exercised its right to access them
As is known, the {anti-corruption court [set] a preventive measure in the form of a 4 million UAH bail for the former general director of the Zorya-Mashproekt plant, Konstantin Kartoshkin.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported suspicions to four former general directors of the Zorya-Mashproekt plant and one entrepreneur in the embezzlement of UAH 1.32 billion. The investigation established that the management of the Zorya-Mashproekt plant, which exported its own products abroad, organized a scheme to embezzle the funds of the state-owned enterprise.
To this end, a number of agency agreements were concluded with a non-resident company, under which it was allegedly supposed to provide services for finding and conducting negotiations with potential buyers of the state-owned enterprise's products regarding the conclusion of relevant foreign economic contracts with them.
As a result, during 2013-2018, the state-owned enterprise unjustifiably transferred $61.98 million to the accounts of a non-resident company as payment for alleged agency services. The claim of losses to the state-owned enterprise for this amount is confirmed by the conclusion of a forensic economic examination.
