Court Extends Duties for Former Ukrinmash CEO

The Appeal Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court extended the term of office of the accused former General Director of the state-owned company Ukrinmash, Volodymyr Omelyanchuk.
As is known, the anti-corruption court found former and current officials of the state-owned company Ukrinmash guilty. They were sentenced to 7 and 8 years in prison. The court also found former Ukrinmash CEO Serhiy Slyusarenko guilty of official negligence, but released him from liability due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
In addition, the court imposed a number of obligations on the accused. The SAPO prosecutor requested that they be extended. Currently, the court has extended the obligations imposed on Omelyanchuk, namely: to appear at the court or the penal institution upon each request; to notify the court of a change in his place of residence and place of work; to wear an electronic monitoring device and not to leave Kyiv and the Kyiv region without the permission of the prosecutor or the court.
Recall that, according to the prosecution, the former deputy general director of Ukrinmash, Kostyantyn Cherednichenko, organized the embezzlement of funds and official forgery of certificates of acceptance and transfer of completed works. During 2014-2016, the management of Ukrinmash organized the supply abroad of products manufactured at other enterprises of Ukroboronprom, with the participation of a private company, the ultimate beneficiary of which was a person who had friendly relations with one of the top managers of the state-owned enterprise. Ukrinmash concluded an agency agreement with this company to support foreign economic contracts, for which it regularly received funds from Ukrinmash.
However, as the investigation established, the relevant services were not actually provided, and the certificates of work performed were forged with the participation of Ukrinmash officials. In general, the investigation established that during 2014-2015, Ukroboronprom illegally transferred over 140 thousand euros to a private company, which at the NBU exchange rate is almost 3.49 million UAH.
Earlier, the Supreme Court of Ukraine arrested a former official in absentia in the Isayenko case.
We also wrote that the Anti-Corruption Court chose the bail of the former State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
