The High Anti-Corruption Court has extended the term of office of Andriy Kobolev, the former Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, until March 23. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office accuses him of embezzling UAH 229 million in bonuses.

As is known, the anti-corruption court reduced Kobolev's bail amount, but left the list of obligations unchanged: to report a change in his place of residence; to refrain from communicating with a number of people and to hand over his foreign passports. The SAPO prosecutor requested that the obligations be extended.

According to the prosecution, in 2018, the Chairman of the Board, allegedly abusing his official position, initiated consideration by the company's Supervisory Board of the issue of approving the payment of bonuses for achieving significant goals and implementing important, strategic projects to employees of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, including members of the Board.

The investigation established that during 2018, bonuses were illegally accrued and paid to the Chairman of the Board in an amount exceeding the maximum allowable amount by UAH 229,250,410.

The former head of Naftogaz, Andriy Kobolev, is a figure in the EBK base.
