Court Extends Obligations of Ex-Naftogaz Head Kobolyev
The higher anti-corruption court re-imposed duties on the former chairman of the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolev. Their term of validity is until March 3, 2025 inclusive.
Such a decision was made by HACC.
Satisfy the request of the prosecutor of the SAP to assign the accused Kobolev Andriy Volodymyrovych duties in the criminal proceedings. To impose on the accused Andrii Volodymyrovych Kobolev additional duties provided for in part 5 of Article 194 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The validity period of the resolution shall be set until March 3, 2025 inclusive
Kobolev is obliged to: inform the court about the change of his place of residence; refrain from communicating with witnesses in the case and hand over foreign passports.
The Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office stated that they filed a petition for extension of duties on November 1, but the following court hearings did not take place at the initiative of the court. In this regard, the period of validity of the procedural obligations ended on November 12. SAP even appealed to the court with a demand to consider this petition.
On November 8 and November 11, the specialized anti-corruption prosecutor's office sent letters to the HACC address with the demand to consider the request for the extension of the preventive measure until its expiration. However, the additional meeting was never scheduled
It will be recalled that, according to the indictment, in 2018, the chairman of the board, allegedly abusing his official position, initiated consideration by the company's Supervisory Board of the issue of approving the payment of a bonus for the achievement of significant goals, the implementation of important, strategic projects to employees of Naftogaz of Ukraine, including members of the board.
The investigation established that during 2018, the chairman of the board was illegally charged and paid bonuses in an amount exceeding the maximum allowable by UAH 229,250,410.
