The High Anti-Corruption Court took into custody Valentyn Zaveryukha, a judge of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City District Court of the Odessa region, because he failed to comply with a previous decision on a preventive measure in the form of a bail of UAH 3 million.

This decision was made on April 16 by the investigating judge of the High Court of Criminal Appeals, Markiyan Galabala.

As is known, the anti-corruption court set bail for judge Zaveryukha at UAH 3 million. However, no one paid the money. Therefore, the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office appealed to the High Council of Justice with a request to grant consent to the arrest of judge Zaveryukha. The High Council of Justice granted permission, and after that the SAPO prosecutor appealed to the court with a request to arrest the suspect.

The prosecutor's motion is partially granted. To apply a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of 60 days to the suspect Valentyn Oleksiyovych Zaveryukha, i.e. until June 16, 2025. To take Valentyn Oleksiyovych Zaveryukha into custody in the courtroom

– the judge announced the decision.

At the same time, an alternative was determined for him in the form of a bail of UAH 1.75 million. If the funds are deposited, Zaveryukh will be released from custody and will be assigned the following obligations: not to leave the Odessa region without permission; to report a change in his place of residence and place of work; to refrain from communicating with a number of people; to hand over his foreign passports; to wear an electronic bracelet.

Recall, according to the investigation, the scheme consisted in the adoption of decisions by judges of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City District Court of the Odessa region on the alleged independent upbringing of a child by a father under fabricated circumstances. These decisions allowed men to avoid mobilization and leave the country under the pretext of caring for a child. For $ 3,500, without the participation of the parties, a decision was adopted in one court session, which gave the right to travel abroad. In total, the investigation identified 1,040 such decisions.

According to media reports from their own sources, suspicion was handed over to lawyer Stanislav Klymenko, head of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi court Valentyn Zaveryus (according to the investigation, the organizer), former head and judge of the same court Oleksandr Boyarsky and Serhiy Savytskyi, respectively.
