Court Keeps Ex-Deputy Head of "Pivdendiproshakht" in Detention image

The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court temporarily kept the convicted former deputy director of the state enterprise "Pivdendiproshakht" Yuriy Sevastyanov in the Lukyanivka detention center until February 6, 2025, although he should have been sent to a colony.

This decision was made by the Supreme Court of Justice, reports Slovo i Dilo.

As is known, the Supreme Court of Ukraine found Sevastyanov and Tatarkin guilty of attempting to seize state-owned enterprise funds. The court sentenced the former director of Pivdendiproshakht to 7.5 years in prison, with a ban on holding certain positions for 3 years, and confiscation of all property.

Tatarkin was sentenced to 7 years and 3 months in prison with the same additional sentence. The verdict was upheld by the Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice.

The petition is granted. Temporarily leave the convicted person (Olexander Tatarkin – ed.) for committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Article 15, Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine in the state institution “Kyiv Pre-trial Detention Center” until the expiration of the term for filing a cassation appeal, i.e. until February 6, 2025

Yuriy Sevastyanov and Oleksandr Tatarkin are suspects in the EBK base.

We will remind, in September 2021, the Supreme Court of Ukraine assigned the case of the state enterprise "Pivdendiproshakht" for consideration.

According to the prosecution, in November 2018, being familiar with the planned reorganization of the State Enterprise "Pivdendiproshakht" by merging it with the "National Coal Company", the Acting Director of the State Enterprise Yuriy Sevastyanov, in collusion with his deputy Oleksandr Tatarkin, created an artificial debt of the state enterprise in the amount of UAH 7 million to a private company, which was previously headed by the Deputy Director of the State Enterprise (before being appointed to the position of Deputy). This is LLC "Limited Edition".

Earlier, the court extended the duties of the former head of Naftogaz Kobolev.
