Court Again Extends Detention for Former State Water Agency Chief
The higher anti-corruption court extended until December 13 the term of detention of the former head of the Basin Management of Water Resources of the Black Sea and Lower Danube Rivers, Roman Pukal, but reduced his alternative in the form of bail from UAH 2 to 1.06 million.
As you know, earlier the anti-corruption court extended Pukal's arrest for another two months. At the same time, his alternative in the form of a pledge was reduced from UAH 4.24 to UAH 3 million. Later, the court reduced his bail to UAH 2 million. The NABU detective and the SAP prosecutor asked to extend Pukal's arrest again.
The request of the senior detective is partially granted. Continue (Pukalu - ed.), who is suspected of committing criminal offenses provided for in part. 1 Art. 368, ch. 4 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, preventive measure in the form of detention in the state institution "Odesa Pre-trial Detention Center" until December 13, 2024 inclusive. At the same time, determine a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of bail in the amount of 350 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons, which is 1,059,800 UAH
According to the investigation, Pukalo, being the head of the Basin Management of Water Resources of the Black Sea and Lower Danube Rivers (BMWE of the Black Sea and Lower Danube Rivers), together with the head of the Starokozatsk Village Council, Boyko and Burlaka, expressed a request to provide an illegal benefit and received it in a particularly large amount in the amount of 40,000 dollars from the entrepreneur.
They received the funds for the adoption of a decision on the lease of real estate in the territory of the property complex on the territory of the Starokozatsk village council.
Pukalo is also suspected of having received an illegal benefit in the amount of UAH 10,000 from an entrepreneur for agreeing to transfer to the latter a real estate object for use, namely: a property complex consisting of a land plot with an area of 1,122 hectares in Odesa.
It will be recalled that earlier it became known that in the Kirovohrad region the head of the MSEC was detained for taking a bribe .
