Lviv police officer suspected of bribe for job placement
The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv has imposed a preventive measure on a Lviv police officer who promised an acquaintance a job in the police in order to book him and avoid mobilization. The police officer demanded $6,000 for his services. The Court Reporter was the first to draw attention to this ruling.
According to the case materials, in November 2025, the inspector of the personnel sector of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Police Department in the Lviv region allegedly offered an acquaintance a job in one of the police units in the Lviv region and avoided mobilization. For his services, the policeman demanded $6,000, depending on the presence or absence of problems with military registration documents.
During the investigation, it became known that in January the accused received 5 thousand dollars. For this, he arranged a meeting with an employee of the personnel department of the UPR in the Lviv region. Thus, on January 20, the man turned to the administrative building of the security police with the necessary documents for employment and booking. At the entrance, law enforcement officers stopped him to check his military registration documents and found out that the man was wanted.
The man was taken to undergo a MMC and issued a summons. After talking with the servicemen of the TCP, the man still managed to obtain an extract from the order dated 01/22/2026 on the appointment to the position of a security guard of the 1st rank of platoon No. 2 of the Titan company of the Ukrainian Special Forces in the Lviv region. A few days later, he managed to generate an extract with information about the reservation in the Reserve+ application. After that, the policeman demanded that his friend pay another 3 thousand dollars due to problems that arose during the reservation. Law enforcement officers detained him while receiving the money.
At the trial, the accused denied the charges and pleaded not guilty. The court chose a preventive measure of 60 days in custody with the right to post bail of 342 thousand UAH.
According to the investigation, the suspect acted in a preliminary conspiracy with yet unidentified officials of the National Police, to whom he proved his intention to receive illegal benefits from citizens of draft age for employment and reservation of their mobilization.
Earlier, law enforcement officers conducted a large-scale special operation, during which they documented dozens of cases of forging documents to evade mobilization. As a result of the investigative actions, suspicions were declared against 110 servicemen and civilians in various regions of Ukraine.
In addition, 4 men will be tried in the Ternopil region, suspected of extorting $700 for college tuition from a conscript, which gave the right to deferment from military service during mobilization.
