Fake Employment Scheme in Lviv Under Investigation
The SSU is conducting an investigation into the possible fictitious employment of men of draft age in the Service for the Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure in the Lviv Region (the former Highway Service in the Lviv Region).
The investigation believes that on the initiative of the head of the Service Oleg Bereza, at least two men were hired at the institution, the NGL.media website reported.
According to the investigation, at the end of June, two conscripted men took a job with the Recovery Service in order to get a reservation and avoid mobilization. Both received the positions of leading engineers of the infrastructure facilities monitoring department of the Infrastructure Recovery and Development Service in the Lviv region.
The specified employees, who formally worked in the Service for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure in the Lviv region, actually did not visit workplaces, but only used their status to receive a deferment from the draft for mobilization in the TCP and SS
SSU investigators believe that Oleg Bereza, the head of the Service for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure, is involved in this scheme. He allegedly gave instructions to his subordinates to arrange and employ conscripted men.
In a comment to journalists, Oleg Bereza said that he does not agree with the accusation of SSU investigators and claims that neither he nor his colleagues could engage in illegal activities. When asked whether the two leading engineers involved in this case go to work, he answered in the affirmative.
A criminal case under part 1 of Art. 114-1 KKU was opened on October 29. As part of the investigation, investigators searched Oleg Bereza's home, where they seized $25,700 and an iPhone. Investigators also searched the Lviv office of the Recovery Service, where they seized a number of documents that could serve as evidence in the case. All items seized during searches were seized by the court. No one has yet been officially charged in this case.
Earlier, a former doctor was detained in Lviv Oblast, who promised the military to influence MSEK officials in exchange for money to obtain a disability group.
In addition, the deputy head doctor of the Central Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC) of the Ministry of Health was recently detained in Kyiv while accepting a bribe. According to the investigation, the official promised for $2,000 to help the conscript get a II group disability, which would allow him to avoid mobilization and go abroad.
