Head of Psychiatric Hospital in Lviv Arrested for Bribery
The employees of the strategic investigations department together with the military counterintelligence of the SSU detained Victoria Shakhova, the head of the department of the Lviv Regional Clinical Psychiatric Hospital, on suspicion of bribery. She is accused of receiving an illegal benefit for helping to establish a diagnosis that exempted a conscript from service.
The head of the 10th department was detained while receiving part of a bribe in the amount of $600. According to the investigation, for $1,000 she offered help in getting the right diagnosis and influence on members of the MAC. The Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police confirmed the detention.
According to the mass media, it was Victoria Shakhova who was detained. She was informed of the suspicion under part 3 of Art. 368 of the Civil Code. If found guilty, she faces eight to 12 years in prison, disqualification from holding certain positions and confiscation of property.
The Lviv Regional Psychiatric Hospital currently refrains from commenting on the situation.
