High Anti-Corruption Court schedules trial of appellate commercial court judge
The High Anti-Corruption Court has scheduled for consideration on the merits of criminal proceedings against Lyudmila Kropivna, a judge of the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal, for false declaration and illegal enrichment.
To schedule a trial based on the indictment in criminal proceedings on charges (Kropivny – ed.) of committing criminal offenses provided for in Art. 368-5, Part 2 of Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The trial shall be conducted in an open court session by a judge alone with the participation of the authorized prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, the accused, her defense attorneys, and the summoning of witnesses.
Lyudmila Kropivna is a figurehead of the EBK base.
As a reminder, the SAPO referred the case of Judge Lyudmila Kropivna to court for illegal enrichment. According to the investigation, at the end of 2021, Judge Lyudmila Kropivna of the Northern Appeal Economic Court acquired two land plots and a residential building in the Kyiv region, the value of which exceeds her legal income by more than UAH 16 million. On real estate websites, these objects were sold for almost $ 1 million, and the final cost was about $ 900 thousand. (approximately UAH 24 million on the date of purchase).
Also, as the authorities note, the judge in her declarations for 2021-2024 indicated inaccurate information about this property, namely its value.
