The HIgh Anti-Corruption Court extended until June 30 the term of office of the former head of the Commercial Court of Lviv Region Mykhailo Yurkevich in the case of abuse of influence and bribery.

As is known, the anti-corruption court continued the arrest of Yurkevich, but reduced his alternative bail from 6 to 3 million UAH. These funds were paid and he was released from custody. The suspect was given the following obligations: to appear at the first request; to report a change in his place of residence and place of work; to refrain from communicating with other suspects and witnesses regarding the circumstances set forth in the report of suspicion; to hand over his international passports for safekeeping.

The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office requested that these obligations be extended for another two months.

The request of the SAPO prosecutor to extend the term of office shall be granted. The term of office of the suspect (Yurkevych – ed.) shall be extended for two months, but within the period of the pre-trial investigation.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported suspicions to the former and current heads of the Lviv Regional Economic Court. According to the investigation, the suspects promised to ensure the adoption of "necessary" decisions in court cases of the Western Appeal Economic Court for $1 million, as well as to prevent the contract killing of a whistleblower. During the investigation, detectives and prosecutors documented the transfer of part of the ill-gotten gains in the amount of $75,000.
