HACC Extends Koval’s Duties image

The High Anti-Corruption Court has extended the remaining duties imposed on businessman Roman Koval until November 1. The SAPO accuses him of organizing the embezzlement of over UAH 62 million during the procurement of the State Special Communications Service, where one of the suspects is the former head of the service, Yuriy Shchyhol.

As is known, the anti-corruption court took into custody the organizer of the case of the former head of the State Special Communications Service Yuriy Shchyhol, businessman Roman Koval. He was given the following obligations: to appear at every request; not to leave Ukraine without permission; to report any change of his place of residence and/or place of work; to refrain from communicating with witnesses and to hand over his foreign passports.

Later, his foreign passports were returned to him. Therefore, the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office requested that his remaining duties be continued.

The motion of the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to extend the term of the duties assigned to the accused (Koval - ed.) - to be granted. To extend the term of the duties assigned to the accused by the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court dated 02.07.2025, for two months. To set the term of the duties until November 1, 2025

Yuriy Shchygol is a suspect in the EBK database.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported suspicions to the head of the State Service for Special Communications Yuriy Shchyhol, his deputy and others of embezzlement of state funds in the amount of over 62 million UAH. According to the investigation, in 2020, the owner of a group of companies, in collusion with the management of the State Service for Special Communications, developed a scheme to embezzle budget funds allocated for the purchase of equipment and software.
