HACC canceled the reduction of bail for the ex-deputy of the State Special Communications image

The Appellate Chamber of the Higher Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) overturned the judge's decision to reduce the amount of the bail for the former deputy head of the State Special Service Viktor Zhora from 10 million hryvnias to 5.45 million hryvnias. Zhora is suspected of being involved in financial frauds related to ex-investigator Yuriy Shchygol.

Earlier, the court of first instance reduced the amount of bail, which was appealed by the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP). The Appeals Chamber upheld the appeal, canceling the previous decision and refusing to grant Zhora's defense attorney's request to change the preventive measure.

The prosecutor's appeal should be upheld. The ruling of the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court dated August 30, 2024 should be annulled. To issue a new resolution to deny the request of the suspect's defense attorney (Zhory - ed.) dated August 23, 2024 to change the preventive measure in criminal proceedings
