HACC Keeps MP Kuzminykh Under House Arrest Until December

On October 14, 2026, at a regular meeting in the case of accusing People's Deputy from the "Servant of the People" Serhiy Kuzminykh of bribery, the HACC placed Kuzminykh under 24-hour house arrest with the wearing of an electronic bracelet until December 14, inclusive.
The court hearing was broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the High Anti-Corruption Court.
SAPO Prosecutor Vitaliy Korzun asked the court to extend the preventive measure — 24-hour house arrest — for another 2 months.
I believe that the risks that existed at the time of the application of the preventive measure continue to exist at present. In particular, the use of active actions to avoid criminal liability in these criminal proceedings by delaying the trial.
He also added that 4 facts of the accused's failure to appear at court hearings without good reason have been established. In addition, the defendant in the case twice used foreign business trips to avoid trial, the prosecutor said.
Defense attorney Volodymyr Krasovsky said that he asks not to support the prosecutor's motion, because there is virtually no risk of his client hiding and evading the court.
The risks declared by the prosecutor were offset by the very obligations to hand over passports for safekeeping to the relevant structures, which makes any business trips abroad impossible. Also, during this time, the client did not commit any violation of the preventive measure, the prosecutor did not declare any new risks. My client came to court every time and was questioned
According to the lawyer, 24-hour house arrest will affect his client's ability to familiarize himself with the case materials and prepare for the debates. Among other arguments, the defense cited the defendant's inability to work, which affects his income. At the same time, the defendant has three dependent children: two study in higher educational institutions, which is equivalent to maintenance, and one child is in school. And as a current people's deputy, the client cannot participate in important votes for the state, said Volodymyr Krasovsky.
The defense requested that the preventive measure be changed from 24-hour house arrest to nighttime house arrest.
Defendant Serhiy Kuzminykh also requested that the preventive measure be changed from 24-hour house arrest.
As any normal person, I do not want any events related to the pre-trial detention center to occur. During the events from June of this year to today, it became clear that if there is any violation by me, and the court recognizes that committee meetings or business trips are not a valid reason, it will lead to my detention. I understand this well
The court granted the prosecutor's request and left People's Deputy Kuzminykh under 24-hour house arrest for another 2 months, until December 14, 2026, with the wearing of an electronic monitoring device. The next court hearing was scheduled for October 15, 2026.
Let us remind you that Serhiy Kuzminykh is a person involved in the EBK base.
