HACC Cuts MP Klochko’s Bail to UAH 11.2 Million

The High Anti-Corruption Court has reduced the bail set as a preventive measure for MP Andriy Klochko from UAH 12.11 million to UAH 11.2 million. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office accuses him of illicit enrichment.
As is known, the court applied a preventive measure in the form of a bail of UAH 12.11 million with obligations to the People's Deputy Klochko. He was also assigned the following obligations: to appear upon every request; not to leave the city of Kyiv without permission; to report any change in his place of residence and place of work; to refrain from communicating with witnesses in the case and to hand over his foreign passports for safekeeping.
Klochko's defense attorney asked the court to change the preventive measure, reducing the bail to UAH 6.05 million. According to the lawyer, the risks in the case have decreased, since all written evidence was examined and a key witness was questioned. The MP also complied with all obligations.
The defense attorney's motion to change the preventive measure is partially granted. To change the preventive measure in the form of bail, applied to (Klochko - ed.) by the decision of the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court dated May 10, 2024 in the amount of UAH 12,112,000, by reducing it to UAH 11,202,001

Recall, NABU and SAPO reported People's Deputy Andriy Klochko on suspicion of illicit enrichment. According to the investigation, in 2020-2021, the People's Deputy acquired assets worth a total of UAH 25 million, although the official income and savings of him and his wife during this period amounted to no more than UAH 14 million. Thus, the difference between the value of the purchased property and the People's Deputy's funds amounted to UAH 11 million. These are 3 land plots in the Kyiv region, 5 apartments in the capital, 2 non-residential premises, as well as Tesla and Mercedes-Benz cars, the bulk of which he registered for his mother and sister.
