On September 14, the High Anti-Corruption Court announced the verdict of Oleksandr Shcherbyn, a judge of the City District Court of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, who was convicted of bribery. He was sentenced to five years in prison with confiscation of property.

This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

The court found that in August 2025, the judge promised to acquit a case he was considering in exchange for a monetary reward. After receiving the money, he ruled in favor of the defendant.

The court found him guilty under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - receiving an unlawful benefit by an official.

In addition to the five-year prison sentence, the judge was disqualified from holding positions related to the administration of justice for three years. The court also ordered the confiscation of all his property. The verdict will enter into force 30 days after its announcement, unless it is appealed.
