HACC Reduces Bail for Kropyvnytskyi Appeals Court Judge image

The High Anti-Corruption Court has reduced the bail set for Volodymyr Honchar, a judge of the Kropyvnytskyi Court of Appeal, from UAH 1.01 million to UAH 700,000. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office accuses him of extortion and receiving illegal benefits.

As is known, the anti-corruption court applied a preventive measure to Judge Honchar in the form of UAH 1.01 million bail. He was also assigned the following obligations: to appear in court upon each request; to notify the court of a change in his place of residence and work; to refrain from communicating with a number of persons and to hand over his foreign passports for safekeeping. The defendant's defense attorney asked the court to reduce the bail amount.

To grant the defense attorney's motion to change the preventive measure in terms of changing the amount of bail applied to the accused (Honchar - ed.). To change the amount of bail for the accused, determined by the decision of the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court dated 31.10.2023, from UAH 1,017,736 to UAH 700,000
