Medical Head Demands ₴250,000 for Expert Opinion

In Kyiv, law enforcement officers exposed the head of one of the units of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine as a bribe, who demanded almost 250,000 hryvnias for speeding up the issuance of the results of the examination on the compliance of the disinfectant with the established norms.

The expert's opinion was needed for the further sale of the product. Law enforcement officers detained a woman while she was receiving illegal benefits. During the investigation, the police seized the money received from the victim and documents related to the laboratory research.

Investigators informed the suspect about the suspect. The court chose a preventive measure for her in the form of detention with the right to post bail.

Now the perpetrator faces up to ten years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with confiscation of property.
