Ex-MP Kormyshkina pleads guilty in enrichment case

Iryna Kormyshkina, a former MP from the Servant of the People party suspected of illegal enrichment, and her husband pleaded guilty and entered into a plea agreement with the investigation.

The first court hearing in the case of former People's Deputy Iryna Kormyshkina and her husband Yuriy Kormyshkin took place on March 14. The defense requested a closed hearing, and the court partially granted the request - if personal data is revealed during the hearing, the hearing will be closed.

In February of this year, the SAPO prosecutor sent the court an indictment with two plea agreements for Kormyshkina and her husband. According to him, the agreements were initiated by the defense at the pre-trial investigation stage.

Now, at the preparatory meeting, the prosecutor announced that the agreement stipulates the following conditions for Iryna Kormyshkina:

- sincere repentance;

- transfer of 20 million UAH to the state budget;

- donation to the Armed Forces of Ukraine – 1 million UAH for 5 months;

- "exposing each other";

- public interest: saving resources of the court and law enforcement agencies;

- deprivation of the right to hold positions in state authorities for a period of 2 years.

It is indicated that Iryna and Yuriy Kormyshkina admitted their guilt.

The husband of the former People's Deputy, among other things, requested permission to go abroad for treatment. According to him, he works in the agricultural business and was blown up by an anti-tank mine and had a fractured spine. That is why, according to Kormyshkin, he needs to undergo treatment abroad. The fate of this trip depends on the decision of the prosecutor.

The judge also inquired about the absence of the sureties at the hearing – in particular, David Arakhamia and Vitaliy Kim. The defense noted that there was no need to call the sureties, but the judge disagreed.

The hearing has been postponed for now. The plea agreement for Yuriy Kormyshkin will also be considered next time. The court must then approve these agreements.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported suspicions of People's Deputy Iryna Kormyshkina in illicit enrichment. According to the investigation, in 2021-2022 she acquired assets that exceed official income and savings for this period by more than UAH 20 million. For the funds received as unfounded assets, the People's Deputy later purchased a house near Odessa through a legal entity, in which she lives.

Later it became known that the Supreme Court released People's Deputy Kormyshkina on the bail of the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, and the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim.

In addition, the HIgh Anti-Corruption Court applied a preventive measure in the form of a bail of UAH 15 million to businessman Yuriy Kormyshkin, who is a suspect in the case of the wife of MP Iryna Kormyshkina on illegal enrichment.

Also later, Iryna Kormyshkina (Allahverdiyeva) wrote a statement about the deprivation of her deputy mandate .
