Employees of Kyivzelenbud and contractors were informed of suspicion of misappropriation of over UAH 5 million, which was supposed to be used for repairs to parks and squares in the capital.

This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office.

Thus, suspicion was reported to two employees of the Kyivzelenbud Construction Company, an estimate maker, as well as four heads of private enterprises for misappropriation, embezzlement and taking possession of property through abuse of official position (Parts 4, 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

In accordance with the agreements between Kyivzelenbud and contractors, during 2023, repairs were carried out in Kyiv on the retaining wall in Poznyaki Park in Darnytskyi District, the paths between the squares on Vyshgorodska Street in Obolonskyi District, the square on Inzhenera Borodina Street, and the paths in the Hydropark in Dnipro District.

The suspected employees, with the involvement of an estimater hired under a civil law contract, entered knowingly false information into the acts of work performed regarding the volume and cost of work and materials used.

Thus, the UCP reported, the Kyiv community suffered losses of over 5.35 million hryvnias, which was confirmed by the conclusions of forensic commodity, construction, and economic expertise.

Recall that earlier, officials of Kyivzelenstroy were exposed in a corruption scheme. According to investigators, the management of Kyivzelenstroy demanded bribes from contractors with whom it concluded contracts for the performance of works.

The Security Service and the National Police also uncovered a scheme to embezzle budget funds managed by the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).
