The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) did not consider the appeal of former Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov regarding a preventive measure in the Energoatom embezzlement case.

The press service of the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court stated that the notification of the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court regarding the consideration of the appeal of the former Deputy Minister of Ukraine was erroneous. The corresponding ruling concerned another person - another suspect in the Energoatom case, the Appeals Chamber said in a statement.

On November 25, the AC of the HACC considered an appeal against a preventive measure from Lesya Ustimenko, a defendant in the Energoatom embezzlement case. The court left the preventive measure unchanged.

Earlier, the press service of the HACC reported that the Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice made a decision on the appeal against the preventive measure of former Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov. The preventive measure in the form of detention was left in force.

The panel of judges of the AC HACC dismissed the appeals of the defense. The decision comes into force from the moment of its announcement and is not subject to appeal in cassation.

Oleksiy Chernyshov is suspected of illicit enrichment. NABU and SAPO believe that he participated in organizing a embezzlement scheme at Energoatom and helped legalize the stolen funds.

The Appeals Chamber clarified that a bail of 51.6 million hryvnias has already been paid for Oleksiy Chernyshov and a number of procedural obligations have been imposed, in particular regarding the surrender of his passport.

Oleksiy Chernyshov stated that his complaint was not considered by the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court on November 25 and that he learned about the court's decision on the preventive measure from the Facebook page of the Appeals Chamber.

Today, the hearing was scheduled for 10:30. I was there at exactly 10:30. A court employee came out to us and said that we could go because the hearing had been postponed. The date will be announced later.

He stated that he was "clarifying the circumstances" regarding the court hearing and the decision of the Appeals Chamber.

Oleksiy Chernyshov is a suspect in the EBK database.

Previously, Chernyshov appealed the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice regarding the preventive measure.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported on suspicion of Chernyshov in receiving illegal benefits and abuse of office . After that, Bihus.info journalists established that Chernyshov and his wife are involved in the construction of a cottage town in Kozyn, Kyiv region. Based on these facts, NABU detectives launched an investigation into the alleged legalization of funds obtained by criminal means.

Also, a 51 million hryvnia bail was paid for former Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov. In addition, it became known that Chernyshov's wife filed a lawsuit for the division of property.
