HACC Appeals Chamber upholds sentence for ex-customs officer

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court has upheld the verdict sentencing former state inspector of the customs clearance department No. 3 of the "Uhryniv" customs post of Lviv Customs, Nazariy Kot, to 3.5 years in prison for abuse. He is currently in a penal colony.
This decision was made by the AC of the HACC, the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office reports.
As is known, the High Anti-Corruption Court found former state inspector of Lviv Customs Kot guilty and sentenced him to 3.5 years in prison. He was also banned from holding positions at customs for 2 years after serving the main sentence. The former customs officer's lawyer filed an appeal against this decision. Kot is already being held in the Lviv Penitentiary.
On February 18, 2026, the panel of judges of the AC of the HACC supported the position of the prosecutor of the HACC and left unchanged the conviction of the HACC of September 4, 2025 against the former state inspector of the State Customs Service No. 3 of the “Uhryniv” MP of the Lviv Customs Service N. Kota. The court sentenced him to imprisonment for a term of three years and six months with a fine of UAH 8,500, with deprivation of the right to hold positions in the bodies of the State Customs Service of Ukraine for a term of 2 years.
