HACC extends duties for former Odesa mayor
The High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HACC) granted the request of the SAPO prosecutor and extended the term of the procedural obligations of the former mayor of Odessa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, until April 17, 2026 inclusive. According to the court's decision, the accused must: appear at every court request; not leave the city of Odessa and the Odessa region without the court's permission; notify the court of a change of residence; refrain from communicating with persons specified in the court's ruling; hand over documents that give the right to leave and enter Ukraine; wear an electronic means of control.
The former mayor of Odessa is accused of criminal offenses under Part 1 of Article 255, Part 4 of Article 28, and Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Gennady Trukhanov is a figure in the EBK database.
According to the investigation, Trukhanov improperly performed his duties and failed to ensure the proper functioning of the city's engineering networks. Because of this, the streets of Odessa were regularly flooded for many years.
In October 2025, he was stripped of his Ukrainian citizenship, after which he automatically lost his position. Along with him, 22 of his advisors were dismissed.
In January, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv changed the preventive measure for former Odessa mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov. He was released from house arrest.
