Appeal upholds bail for ex-court head in Odesa region image

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court left unchanged the preventive measures applied to three defendants in the case of an organized group that helped conscripted men illegally travel abroad and receive deferments from mobilization.

According to media reports, this concerns the former head of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City District Court of the Odessa region, Valentyn Zaveryukha, judge of the same court, Serhiy Savytskyi, and assistant to one of the judges, Stanislav Gintser.

On March 13, the Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice of Ukraine considered the appeals of the defense parties against the rulings of the investigative judges of the Supreme Court of Justice of Ukraine dated February 26, 2025 on the application of preventive measures in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 2 and 3 million, as well as UAH 787 thousand to the former Chairman of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City District Court of Odessa region, a judge of the same court and an assistant judge. Based on the results of the consideration, the panel of judges of the Supreme Court of Justice of Ukraine dismissed the appeals of the defense parties, and the rulings of the investigative judges of the Supreme Court of Justice of Ukraine remained unchanged.
