HACC to Review Appeal on MP Odarchenko’s Verdict image

The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court has scheduled a hearing on February 12 on an appeal against the verdict sentencing MP Andriy Odarchenko to 8 years in prison for providing an illegal benefit to Mustafa Nayem, the former head of the State Reconstruction Agency.

As is known, the anti-corruption court found Odarchenko guilty of providing illegal benefits. He was sentenced to 8 years in prison with confiscation of all property owned by him and a 3-year ban from holding a number of positions. The defendant's defense attorneys and the SAPO prosecutor filed appeals against the verdict.

Andriy Odarchenko is a suspect in the EBK database

As a reminder, the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office stated that, according to operational information, People's Deputy Andriy Odarchenko fled abroad. Because of this, he was put on the national and international wanted list .

Later it turned out that the People's Deputy illegally crossed the border near the settlement of Krasnoilsk, Chernivtsi region and asked for asylum in Romania.

The Supreme Court of Ukraine also arrested People's Deputy Odarchenko in absentia and confiscated his bail. We also wrote that fugitive People's Deputy Odarchenko appeared in court via video link .
