The deputy of the Uzhhorod City Council will be tried for bribery on a postponement
The case of Uzhgorod MP Horvat, who was detained for demanding bribes for a postponement of mobilization, was referred to the court.
An indictment has been sent to the court against a deputy of the Uzhgorod City Council who demanded money from conscripts applying for a postponement of the draft due to family circumstances.
For various amounts of bribes, the official guaranteed them an "accelerated" procedure for obtaining certificates confirming the fact of caring for persons with disabilities.
The last name of the briber is not disclosed, but from the published context it is clear that it is one of the leaders of the Roma community in Uzhgorod, a representative of the political party "Native Zakarpattia", Myroslav Horvat.
The mass media write that in June the law enforcement officers detained the deputy while he was receiving illegal benefits.
The law enforcement officers informed him of the suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official).
The case materials have been referred to the court. The perpetrator faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The criminal investigation was carried out by SBU employees in Zakarpattia Oblast together with the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Uzhhorod District Prosecutor's Office.
