Humanitarian Vehicle Sale Scheme Exposed in Kyiv Region image

Cars imported as humanitarian aid were illegally sold in the Boryspil district, and the criminals received $19,400 for them. This was reported by the National Police.

In the Boryspil region, the head of a charitable organization, together with a volunteer, organized a scheme to illegally sell cars imported as humanitarian aid. Both were detained while receiving over $19,000 in "gross."

As the investigation established, during 2022-2024, more than 680 vehicles were imported into Ukraine under the leadership of the philanthropist. They underwent customs clearance under a preferential procedure and were registered with the charitable fund as humanitarian aid. However, some of these vehicles were sold in the Boryspil district.

On February 13, during the sale of four cars for a total of $19,400, police detained the 56-year-old head of a charitable organization and her accomplice, a 54-year-old volunteer. Both suspects were detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Law enforcement officers informed the dealers of suspicion of selling humanitarian aid goods on a large scale, in a prior conspiracy by a group of persons, during martial law (Part 3, Article 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The perpetrators face up to seven years in prison.

Previously, detectives of the Territorial Department of the BES in Chernivtsi region uncovered a scheme for the illegal import of cars under the guise of humanitarian aid.

In addition, recently, SBI officers detained and reported three officers of one of the military units in the Donetsk region who were stealing fuel .
