NABU finalizes case against former Interior Ministry secretary

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office have completed an investigation into the case against nine individuals, including former State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Oleksiy Takhtai.

This is reported by the press services of the authorities, but they do not mention the names of the defendants. According to media reports, this concerns Takhtai and the case of misappropriation of funds of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, obtaining illegal benefits, and legalization of property.

On April 8, 2025, the SAPO prosecutor made a decision to complete the pre-trial investigation in the case against the former State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the head of a state institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and seven other persons who were exposed for misappropriation of millions of dollars, receiving and providing illegal benefits, as well as legalization of property obtained by criminal means. Today, NABU detectives, on the instructions of the SAPO prosecutor, have opened the case materials to the defense for review

At the beginning of the year, the Supreme Court of Ukraine applied a preventive measure in the form of a bail of UAH 33.3 million to former State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Oleksiy Takhtai.
