Witness in Novik case charged for false testimony

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau reported suspicion to a witness who allegedly provided the court with knowingly false testimony in a case against a judge of one of the courts for an illegal benefit.
This is reported by the press services of the authorities.
According to media reports, this is a witness in the case of Dnipropetrovsk District Court judge Lala Novik, who was sentenced to 5 years in prison. The hearing of the case is currently suspended in the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court due to the judge's mobilization.
The SAPO and NABU were notified of the suspicion of a person who, during the trial in the case of a judge accused of receiving an illegal benefit, gave the court knowingly false testimony. The witness committed these actions in order to receive money from persons acting in the interests of the accused. Thus, during the pre-trial investigation into the judge, this witness was repeatedly interrogated and he gave incriminating testimony regarding the circumstances of the request and the judge receiving an illegal benefit. However, already during the trial, the witness radically changed his testimony in favor of the accused. The SAPO initiated a pre-trial investigation into this fact, during which evidence was obtained about the motives for the witness to change his testimony
The prosecutor's office said that the witness was offered $50,000 in illegal benefits and a job in Kharkiv if he changed his testimony in the case of Judge Novik. In addition, there was a discussion of the need for conspiracy before and after the interrogation in court, during which the witness was to change his testimony, providing him with protection, etc.
Lali Novik is a figurehead of the EBK base.
As a reminder, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office have exposed Judge Novik for receiving undue benefit. According to the investigation, the servant of Themis demanded and received $2,500 for making a decision in the interests of an individual in a civil case.
